Housed in a historic church in downtown Youngstown, this brewery makes a selection of handcrafted beers in the four-barrel basement brewhouse. In the brewhouse, you’ll find a collection of fine wine and spirit barrels, oak puncheon barrels, an imported Italian foeder, and pristine stainless steel tanks.

The Noble Creature Cask House has four side-pour lager taps designed to perfect the slow-pouring process, so you get the very best flavor in every glass. The draft list changes regularly and includes IPAs, lagers, porters, fermented beers, Belgian ales, and more. If you’d like a bite to go with your beer, you can order food from Zizzo BBQ and have it delivered to your table.

Do you prefer your brews to go? Noble Creature Cask House offers curbside and house pickup of both cans and bottles. The cask house also has a small bakery that offers a limited selection of baked goods for preorder only, or you can take your brews home and pick up takeout from a local restaurant to go with them.

Paladin Brewing

Paladin Brewing got its start in 2015 when local John Chandler realized his dream of adding more flavor and intrigue to the Youngstown brewery scene. A lifelong resident of the area, John sees Paladin Brewing as his way of giving back to the community. His independently owned microbrewery serves a wide range of beers including IPAs, cream ales, oatmeal stouts, blonde ales, smoked beers, and other options.

You can enjoy your brew on-site in the tavern, in the yard, or on the patio. The brewery also hosts special events from time to time, including a regular Kids Day, which is free to attend and often includes activities, food, and a bounce house. This is a great stop in a family fun day before or after other activities like bowling.

Biker Brewhouse

The Biker Brewhouse is conveniently tucked into a corner of a Harley Davidson dealership. While this is obviously a convenient place to stop if you’re visiting the dealership, you’ll also find that this is a great destination on its own. You can grab a drink at the bar, dine in the lounge, or retreat to the second level for a private table on the balcony overlooking the space below. You can try samplers to find your next favorite, then order a pint, growler, or even a keg.

The beer menu includes IPAs, blondes, a pale ale, and a coffee breakfast stout. If you need a bite to eat, you’ll find a diverse menu of American favorites, including pizzas, flatbreads, chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches, and pasta.

If you fall in love with the Biker Brewhouse, you’ll want to check out their Mug Club. For a $60 membership, you’ll receive 20 oz drinks for the price of a 16 oz beer, $2 off growler fills, and 20% off merchandise. Members of the Mug Club also enjoy guaranteed access to limited beer releases, discounted entry to certain taproom events, and their own mug that lives in the taproom.

Modern Methods Brewing Company

Modern Methods Brewing Company is located less than 30 minutes from Youngstown, in Warren, Ohio. Modern Methods offers over a dozen different brews, including a West-coast style IPA, Bavarian pilsner, Belgian wit, German Berliner Weisse, and Irish ale. You can order online for curbside pickup or local delivery throughout the Warren and Youngstown areas.

If you prefer to enjoy your brew on-site, you can stop in and grab a seat at the bar or on the patio. Reservations are required for seating at the brewery’s indoor tables.
Once a month, Modern Methods Brewing Company hosts a supper club where members enjoy a special meal accompanied by 64 ounces of a limited small batch of beer for early release. These dinners are catered by local restaurants or food trucks.

Whistle & Keg

Whistle and Keg is a local Ohio favorite with three locations. Pay-by-the-ounce self-service beer taps allow you to get exactly what you want from this brewery experience. The Youngstown location has a wide range of brews on tap, from Whistle & Keg and other breweries like Urban Artifact in Cincinnati, Fat Head’s Brewery in North Olmstead, and Crafted Artisan Meadery in Mogadore.

Whistle & Keg also hosts live music and special events. Keep an eye on the calendar so you’ll always know what’s coming up.

Lil Paws Winery

Lil Paws Winery is located in Lake Milton, Ohio, about 20 minutes west of Youngstown. This brewery and winery has a special fondness for furry friends. Each wine is named for a dog that one of the four owners owns or has owned. The beers are names for dog breeds, with options like the Shepherd IPA, Collie German alt, Retriever wheat, and Bull Dog coffee porter. All the brews are available on tap for a 2 oz. taste or 12 oz. draft.

If you’re looking for a destination to host your next event, the party room at Lil Paws Winery can accommodate up to 50 people. The room is available to rent for $50 an hour.
