GMC SUV Buying Guide

At Cochran Buick GMC, we’re always excited to help our customers decide upon one of the fantastic SUVs in the GMC lineup. That’s why today, we’re going to do our best to provide an overview of the Yukon, Acadia, and Terrain. By the time we’re done, we hope that you’ll have inched a bit closer towards deciding which one is right for you. After that, it’ll be time to join us for a test drive!

Yukon

The GMC Yukon is the biggest and brawniest of GMC’s SUVs. This full-size model is capable of seating up to nine passengers, so it’ll likely be able to fit your immediate family and then some! Even while fully occupied, it’ll offer you 39.3 cubic ft. of cargo space1 behind the third row. However, if you have a large-scale project in mind, you can put down the rear rows to unlock 94.7 cubic ft. of room1. You’ll also be delighted to know that the 2019 Yukon is capable of towing up to 8,500 lb. of cargo2 thanks to its monstrous 5.3L EcoTec V8 engine, which provides 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. Last, but certainly not least, this SUV offers amenities such as a rear camera system3.

Acadia

If you’re looking for a healthy medium between the massive Yukon and the compact Terrain, then you’ll be pleased with the GMC Acadia, which offers seating for up to seven passengers! The 2019 edition of this vehicle wields a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with 193 horsepower and 188 lb.-ft. of torque as standard, however you can upgrade to a 3.6L V6 powertrain that provides 310 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. This ride has convenient features such as keyless open and start, as well as available 4G LTE Wi-Fi®4 to keep you connected when you otherwise might not have access to service—perfect for longer trips or if you conduct business while on the go.

Terrain

Finally, we arrive at the GMC Terrain—a compact SUV capable of seating up to five passengers. Despite its size, the 2019 version still manages to generate solid amounts of power with its standard 1.5L turbo engine, which pumps out 170 horsepower and 203 lb.-ft. of torque. You can also upgrade to the 252 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque supplied by the available turbo engine. With this equipped, you’ll have up to a 3,500-lb. towing capacity2, so towing a smaller boat or some ATVs along I-680 won’t pose any problems for you! You’ll also love the peace of mind supplied by features such as Adaptive Cruise Control3 and Front Pedestrian Braking3, both of which are available on the SLT trim level.
