What Happened to the Regular Encore?

Buick stopped producing the Encore, which had been around since 2013, after the 2022 model year. The Encore was a little smaller than the Encore GX counterpart and was offered at a similar price. Due to the similarities between the two models, and many buyers preferring the extra size of the Encore GX, Buick decided instead to focus solely on the Encore GX and stop producing the original Encore. However, Buick continues to offer four distinctive SUVs despite losing the Buick Encore, as it recently announced the new 2024 Buick Envista.

2024 Buick Encore GX Prices

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is available in three trim levels. The trim you select not only determines many of the features included with your SUV but also the starting MSRP. These are the versions of the 2024 Buick Encore GX you can choose.

2024 Buick Encore GX Preferred: Starting at $25,600

The base model of the Encore GX is the Preferred. Even though this is the starting trim, you can still expect plenty of standard features. The Preferred comes with many of the updated interior and exterior elements, including LED headlights, 18-inch Bright Silver aluminum painted wheels, a new front grille and fascia, and many driver-assistance features.

2024 Buick Encore GX Sport Touring: Starting at $26,800

The next level up is the Sport Touring. For just a slightly higher price you can receive significantly more features. For instance, the Sport Touring comes with 18-inch High-Gloss Black painted wheels and LED taillights. There are also a few other cosmetic changes, such as the Gloss Black front grille, the flat-bottom steering wheel, and the ST logo embroidered on the front-seat head restraints. Compare the Preferred and the Sport Touring directly, and you’ll likely find that the additional cost is well worth it.

2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir: Starting at $31,900

Finally, the premium version of the Encore GX is the Avenir. This is the model to get if you want the most luxurious amenities that the Encore GX has to offer. For example, the Avenir comes with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a remote start feature, all of which are ideal on those colder days.

With the Avenir, you’ll also get leather-trimmed front seats, a flat-folding front passenger seatback for additional cargo space, and dual-zone automatic climate control. 2024 Buick Encore GX Power and Performance

With the 2024 Buick Encore GX, there are two powertrain options available. The base version uses a 1.2-liter engine that delivers 137 horsepower along with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. If you want a little extra power, there’s a 1.3-liter engine available that produces 155 horsepower. You can also get your 2024 Buick Encore GX with all-wheel drive for more traction on tougher road surfaces.

Another reason to upgrade to the larger engine is the improved fuel efficiency. If you opt for the 1.3-liter engine and front wheel drive, the EPA estimates you’ll get around 31 mpg on the highway. The 1.2-liter engine, on the other hand, gets around 30 mpg on the highway. If you decide to get the all-wheel-drive system with the 1.3-liter engine, expect to get around 29 mpg on the highway.

2024 Buick Encore GX Interior and Features

The interior of the 2024 Buick Encore GX is where it really separates itself from some of its competitors. The Encore GX packs in a ton of features on its base level trim, unlike some of its rivals that save them for the more costly trim levels. For example, all models come standard with the 11-inch infotainment touch screen, which gives users easy access to multimedia and additional features.
