Models and Trims

GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition
The 2024 GMC Canyon AEV adds touches to transform the Canyon AT4X into a trail buster. The GMC Canyon’s interior gets AEV touches but is otherwise the same as the AT4X with its infotainment system, 11.3-inch touch screen, and low-key instrument panel.
What’s New in 2024?
The 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition represents an opportunity to get a GMC Canyon ready for rugged terrain straight from the factory. It’s a four-wheel-drive midsize pickup that can get you to remote destinations or hold up year after year in rough territory. Underneath all the AEV additions is the engine and drivetrain you’ve come to expect from GMC, along with its legendary toughness.
What Is AEV?
AEV is an aftermarket manufacturer of vehicle parts and converts specific models from various automakers. The company focuses primarily on designing and manufacturing replacement parts that perform to a higher standard than the original factory equipment. These aftermarket parts enable vehicles to operate in rough conditions, protect the body and the engine, and enhance performance.
How Is the AT4X Canyon Different From the AT4X AEV Edition?
The AT4X arrived in 2023 and became a serious contender in the off-roading arena. Its 2.7-liter Turbo high-output engine delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The truck has a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. The AT4X package features a standard off-road chassis package and gets a 2-inch lift and 3.5-inch widened track from the factory for a height of 10.7 inches and a width of 66.3 inches.
The AT4X AEV Edition features a higher ground clearance of 12.2 inches, steel bumpers in the front and back, and 17-inch Salta beadlock-capable cast aluminum wheels. Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires come standard with the AEV edition. Hot-stamped boron steel skid plates protect the Canyon’s underside to a level cold-stamped high-strength steel can’t match.
The AEV Edition gets three standard auxiliary control switches to help integrate additional overlanding and off-roading accessories. These aren’t available on the AT4X. The front of the AEV Edition has a 38.2-degree front approach angle and a 26.0-degree departure angle that helps the vehicle clear ridges and rocks that would stop other vehicles in their tracks. Last but not least, the rear recovery points are of heavy-duty cast iron, and the front bumper has a mount for a winch.
Exterior Features
At first glance, the 2024 Canyon AT4X AEV Edition’s exterior looks much the same as other Canyon variations. When you take a closer look at the vehicle, you see the differences in the form of beefy bumpers, large tires with aggressive tread, and a taller stance.
Performance and Towing
The AEV GMC Canyon features a turbocharged and intercooled dual overhead camshaft 16-valve inline-four engine with an aluminum block and head and direct fuel injection. The engine reaches 310 hp at 5,600 rpm and 430 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. It pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and achieves fuel economy of 16-17 mpg in the city,16-20 mpg on the highway, and 16-18 mpg combined. The maximum towing capacity of the AT4X AEV Edition is 6,000 pounds.
Price and Release
The MSRP for the 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition is $65,995, and the vehicle is available on the showroom floor of Cochran Buick GMC Youngstown.
