In addition to offering a slightly larger cabin, the Encore GX has two engine choices and a towing capacity of 1,000 pounds.

Infotainment and Safety Technology

The Encore’s infotainment system consists of a 7-inch screen and six-speaker stereo. Other standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, a wireless hotspot, USB ports, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get a three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM radio.

The only trim level available with the 2022 Encore is the Preferred trim. The Sport Touring and Essence trims were discontinued prior to the 2021 model year, while the base trim was cut for this year.

There are, however, five additional packages you can add to the Preferred trim. The first is the Safety Package, which costs an additional $495. It adds a 120-volt power outlet, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert. Safety Package II adds several additional driver assistance features, like lane departure warning and parking sensors.

The Road Trip Package costs $365. It includes all-weather floor mats and roof rack cross rails. The Active Package adds $350 onto your bill, and equips your Encore with an accessory carrier hitch and a cargo area tray. The last upgrade package on offer is the Interior Protection Package, which comes with all-weather floor mats and a premium carpet for the cargo area.

The final stand-alone upgrade worth mentioning is the optional moonroof, which costs an additional $900. This allows you to enjoy fresh air and impressive views in the cabin at the tap of a button.
